Campus Groups

Richmond has several student-, staff- and faculty-led groups that are dedicated to progressive sustainability efforts.

Environmental Awareness Group (EAG)
The University-wide standing committee of faculty, students and staff responsible for the development of environmental awareness and support for effective environmental action at Richmond

Sustainability Working Group
This group, which includes staff and faculty representation, is chaired by the President's Chief of Staff and is responsible for the implementation of the Presidents Climate Commitment and strategic planning for the University's environmental efforts.

Richmond Environmental Law Society (RELS)

Law school group dedicated to educating people about issues in environmental law and helping to improve sustainability through environmental activities

RENEW (Richmond Environmental Network for Economic Willpower)

A Richmond student organization that focuses on promoting on-campus recycling, raising environmental awareness and participating in various forms of environmental activism

Sierra Club
A national student organization, with a Richmond chapter, devoted to improving the environment and spreading awareness of environmental issues on campus and in the community

Habitat for Humanity
This national organization, with a Richmond chapter, is known for trying to eliminate substandard housing conditions by building simple and affordable homes. The organization also strives to use sustainable materials in their construction efforts and helps to re-sell student property at the end of the school year.
